Set of six mahogany East Anglian chairs

Here are a few photos of a gorgeous set of six mahogany dining chairs. These are East Anglian, C1850-90 and have the maker’s mark “J. MEEK” stamped on each chair. With research if have found there was an H J MEEK based in Norwich in 1883. These chairs are in wonderful condition and are £690


East Anglian fruit wood and mahogany side chair

This is a typical style of side chair made in East Anglia. The “hollow” seat is of mahogany and the rest of the timber is fruit wood with a pleasing grain. This chair has a lovely colour and patina and would look charming in any house.

Set of four elm East Anglian chairs

This is a set of four elm side chairs attributed to East Anglia. Circa 1860-1890. The chairs have hollow seats and heavily turned front legs with wide rounded stay rails overlapping the shaped back uprights.
The chairs have retained their original warm stain that was intended to bring the elm to a mahogany colour. Two of the chairs are slightly warmer in colour than the others.
The set has been sympathetically restored and been treated with de-wormer.
The hollow seat make these chairs comfortable to sit on. £230
